Together, we're making an impact with proceeds!

One month after books arrived from the printer, we made our first donation: supporting the printing of a book of stories from CSU's Veterans Writing Workshop

Charlie Mike was published in summer 2020 and again in fall 2023. We were so happy to support the printing of these veteran stories.

In July 2021 we presented a check for $7,500 to the Rocky Mountain VA Hospital to support The National Veterans Creative Arts Festival, which will be hosted in Denver in 2024.

TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors) Good Grief Camp for Kids

We were humbled to donate $5000 toward this program and have a brief glimpse into the experience they provide for children and teenagers grieving the death of a military family member.  Visit their website at TAPS.org.

In July 2021 we presented a check for $2,500 to the Heart-J Veterans program at Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch in Loveland, CO, for their hosting of SongwritingWith:Soldiers, a retreat that pairs music industry songwriters with veterans to share their stories through song.  SW:S has been featured on NPR and CBS, in the New York Times, the Washington Post and more.

In the summer of 2022, we presented a check for $5,000 to Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors to support their Good Grief camp for kids. It was a moving experience for our member who was able to experience the program first-hand when delivering the donation.

Hearts & Horses Therapeutic Riding Program

After a representative from Hearts & Horses in Loveland CO came to our unit meeting to describe their program for veterans, our members voted to donate $5000 of proceeds from SerVe to support their mission. Learn more at HeartsandHorses.org.

We donated $5500 to the Veterans Community Project in the fall of 2023, as they held a Band Bier & Brats fundraiser in celebration of the opening of their Longmont, CO village.

Adult Learner & Veteran Services at CSU

In the spring of 2024, we took a tour of the newly expanded center for veterans and other adult learners on the CSU campus in Fort Collins. We were so moved by what they were offering and their dedication to the wellness and success of student veterans that we voted unanimously to donate $5000 for their programs.

Our Treasurer Debra Herrick delivers a check to ALVS Director Ben Schrader.
